For a backup solution I evaluated EncFSMP and was very happy that it seems to suite my needs exactly. But during the first test, I had the following problem:

Copying small files to the decrypted drive works, but as soon as files larger than around 50MB are copied, the copy process just hangs after 30-50MB. I cannot interrupt the copy and cannot unmount the drive.

This happened with both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 with EncFSMP 0.9.7. I created different EncFSs with different settings (Standard, Expert, different key sizes, AES/Blowfish), but the problem always occurred. How can I create debug info for you?

This is very strange, on my machine it works with much larger files. I even created files > 2GB without problems.
Try to copy files with different tools: windows Explorer, command line copy etc. Do all of them fail?
Please try to temporarily disable your Anti-Virus Software and see whether this helps. If not, please install "Pismo Trace Monitor" (Windows installer package) from this page:
    http://www.pismotechnic.com/download/
Run it ("Trace Tool Setup"), then you should see several windows. Choose the one with the title "encFSMP" and click the right mouse button. Choose "Log to file". Try to reproduce the problem, and then send me the log file (hiestandroman@gmail.com).

Copying from command line hangs in the same way as using the windows explorer.
I have no Anti-Virus installed on Windows 8.1. On Windows 7, I had Microsoft Security Essentials running.

    Log file sent by mail.

After much debugging with RomanH we found out that this might have to do something with VMware and Linux hosts. We are still looking into this.

With 0.9.3, the problem does not occur. I will try intermediate versions to find out which version introduced the problem.
