Yes, it would be nice if this driver could support linux kernel 2.6, because the 2.6's drivers (alsa and friends) are so useless...

    You can just use the OSS driver in the 2.6 kernel, instead
    of using ALSA. I had some problems with the ALSA driver in
    2.6.1-mm4, and recompiled the kernel using the OSS driver
    instead - works like a charm.

    I use OSS driver on Debian(Woody)/kernel 2.6.4. It works OK
    with all programs from emu-tools package! I don't use ALSA
    'cause I couldn't get DolbyDigital decoding of MP3's to work
    with it but with OSS driver it works COOL!
