Virus scanner for POP3 email on VPOP3 / News: Recent posts

This is a full installation of EmScan. The programme is unchanged from version 1.60 but the packagae includes eminstall.reg which both installs EmScan as a router in VPOP3 and also fixes the problem with too many recipients (provided you are running VPOP3 1.5.6 or later).

Users of EmScan using VPOP3 as an SMTP server (or indeed any otehr SMTP server) may be interested in our sister project SMTPFilter. SMTPFilter offers protection against spam and will have anti-virus capabilities added.

EmScan provides an email virus scanner, specifically intended to function as an external router for virus scanning POP3 mail received by the VPOP3 mail system. A patch raising EmScan to version 1.6 has been released and adds support to Grisoft's AVG version 7 (cuirrently in beta).

EmScan works with VPOP3 (Beta) version 1.5.5 with no changes required. We can expect that EmScan will also work with VPOP3 version 2. Check here for confirmation when VPOP3 version 2 is released.

VPOP3 have released a new beta which is preliminary to a new major release version 2.
