Mac IIvx loads the floppy and about a second into boot
the sad mac icon appears and the booting stops. Has
launcher info and physical memory mapping output before
crash happens.

Mac IIvx 20Mb/1G will be able test on 68Mb soon.

Is it during the loading of the kernel, the uncompress
phase, or just before jumping in the kernel ?
If the problem appears in the kernel, perhaps the kernel I
provide is not reliable for this mac. Could you try to
create a floppy (see howto) with your own kernel ?
    Did you use emile-debian or emile-rescue ?

Ok, its about 1 1/2 seconds into boot. The physical memory
mapping is flashing past (think there is 24 lines of
mapping, lots more than the quadra), there are 4 lines after
that then the sad mac appears.
    eg.
    Sad Mac Icon
    0000000f
    00000001

Could you try to remove some memory ?

    Last line written is

    loading kernel!!!

Also exactly the same thing happens on 4mb ram.

Also happens with the rescue disk

Will try rolling my own boot floppies under debian over the
break and see how that works on a kernel that I know boots.

Same problem on my new powerbook 150.
Seems to be a problem with floppy manager.

    Correct the contiguous memory allocator.
    Fix problem on powerbook 150.

Could you try the attached floppy image on your IIvx ?

Can you check the memory amount given by EMILE ?
If it is false, I've just corrected a big bug in 68030 MMU
    management about it.
I think it can correct your problem.
Contact me for a floppy image.

last issue is a duplicate of 973168.
I close the bug because 973168 is resolved.
