If you are interested in seeing some _really_ new users to LinuxCNC,
Drew Fustini just posted about Bart Drings's demo at the Chicago Pumping
Station One hackerspace CNC night. Bart made an adapter board that
connects a "RAMPS" board (the most common 3D printer driver board) to a
BeagleBone Black running LinuxCNC instead of the usual Arduino:
Make sure you watch the videos, there are several completely new users
to LinuxCNC in the audio track, and it is interesting to watch both what
they are doing with LinuxCNC and how they are doing it while listening
to the commentary.
I want to thank everyone here for making LinuxCNC what it is today, and
urge you to make these folks feel welcome in the LinuxCNC community as
well as continue to make LinuxCNC better so their initial experience
with the software is as positive as possible.
