Meet the Embedlet container's twin brother:
http://java.sun.com/products/jain/article_slee_principles.html
During the JAIN/SLEE session I felt like I was transported in time to a future
JavaOne where the Embedlets project was being presented.
The good news is that SLEE seems to be so similar to Embedlets that I think it
does much to validate the concept.
The better news is that SLEE depends on JDK 1.4 and so they were not thinking
at all about the embedded space when they developed it.
Beyond this, JAIN seems to be a sleeper that has a significant amount of
support in the Telco space and it looks like it is going to definitely be a
winner.
It also looks like we might want to study their specification and see if it
makes sense to have Embedlets inter-operate with SLEE.
