#23 Scrollbar causes graphic corruption in OSX 10.4.2

Something changed between rc2 and rc5 which causes the scrollbar
to function incorrectly. When using rc5, I notice that the scrollbar is
not rendered correctly. The top portion of the bar is truncated.
When it is used to scroll down (past the area of the buffer) then back
up, the text area is not rendered correctly. See attached jpg

I am using OSX 10.4.2 on a PowerBook G4 15"

    I have only seen this to occur in some cases after a font or fontsize
    change has recently been made. As a work-around, try resizing the
    window (you can even just drag it away from and back to its current size).

    This is still an issue with 8.0.2

    The problem occurs as soon as I start Emacs on Aqua. The truncated scrollbar is
    visible and as soon as I scroll the text area becomes corrupted.

    My .emacs does not change the font or fontsize.
