#22 out of memory on startup

When I start Emacs, it says (in the minibuffer)
"Memory exhausted -- close some buffers"

When I try to load a buffer, Emacs starts going crazy and I have to
kill it.

I am running OS X 10.4.1 on a dual g5 system.

This seems to be a 10.4.1 incompatibility issue. Possibly a recompile from
source (very easy to do if you have the developer package installed) will fix
this. I don't have access to 10.4.1, so if you can compile it and it works,
    please let me know. Thanks!

Apple has fixed this bug (whatever
it was) in 10.4.2. Upgrading should
fix the problem. (Please report if
not, with a *detailed* description of
    your hardware.)

Closing due to no further reports or ability to replicate on 10.4.2.
(Hopefully won't come back on 10.4.3...)
