When starting a query/message/chat with a person in ERC
then the X lines of text from the last conversation(if
any) are showed, so that it's easy to catch up.
Something like that would be nice to have in
emacs-jabber. :-)

    ...or maybe not... :)

What I have is ESC bound to my magic close-chat function
that either burries the buffer or closes the open chat frame
(I use those special display regexps).

Now, if I am finished for the moment with a chat I close it
with ESC and it is hidden. When a new message comes in from
the same buddie I will of course see the old messages as the
buffer is never killed, just hidden.

A message loggin to disk would be exremely nice in
combination with this. Before someone has the time to
implement it I will try to implement some poor man's logging
by saving important chats to disk, then I can reopen them
and tack on text properties using some clever hack (yet to
be written) and voila! I have the old chat back.

    /Mathias
