and that makes me happy. Both programs were included in the official tree, as can be seen http://packages.gentoo.org/ebuilds/?elogviewer-0.5.0 and http://packages.gentoo.org/ebuilds/?kelogviewer-0.4.0.7 so that they are available to anybody with the emerge command. Thank you V-Li.
"Lost" features are back (default sort, etc.)
New features similar to kelogviewer:
treeview
colored text
statubar
search
This is the KDE port of elogviewer.
Although i kept the version the same as the elogviewer release i had at that time, kelogviewer had a few extra features (such as search).
That is a complete rewrite, but there should not be many changes from the user's point of view.
Fewer bugs, I hope. The code looks better to me, better organized and cleaner and less of a hack.
It is also now clearly stated what the license is (GPL2) and who have contributed: the idea was not mine in the first place, although it was _very_ hackish then.
Jeremy Wickersheimer, author of the port of elogviewer to kde (namely kelogviewer) accepted to join me here at sourceforge. He has been added to this project today.
We will share this webspace in the future.
Note that versioning of kelogviewer and elogviewer is not concurrent (so far at least). Just chose the version that suits your environment.
Well, merci Jeremy.
elogviewer is a Gentoo-only program. Its aim is to facilitate the administration by displaying the elogs (info messages present in the ebuilds from portage) in a friendly gtk environment. There exists a kde-friendly version an ncurses version and a batch-script, with similar features.
You may find this version and the next ones directly here.
V-Li is in the process of maintaining an ebuild and adding it to the official tree. For now you can find it on the Gentoo portage overlay sunrise.... read more
