The emphasis of the Elk code is really on the physics. It is not a commercial software where one would use pre-announcements for advertising purposes. It has always been and will always be our policy to make sure that released version is stable and as bug free as humanly possible. If this means last minute delays and checks due to a untimely user report, we are more inclined to fix the physics rather than meet some random deadline we decided to make.
However, if you are really after absolute date and time of release, I would recommend you wait till the final mail sent by Dr. Dewhurst after the code has been released. That I would say is the time to go to web and download a copy.
