The development branch (`trunk/`) has been branched today, to
`branches/release-branch-0.5`.  The first release on this branch will
most likely be tagged `release-0.5.1`.

This first release will comprise 14 utilities, 2 libraries, 6 test
suites, 186 manual pages and one tutorial.  The plan is to make a
"source-only" release.

A big thank-you to everyone for their hard work in bringing the
project to this milestone.
