I did this a few weeks ago and sent a patch to Koshy, unfortunately this
mailing list wasn't set up then.

For Debian, these definitions are provided in the libbsd package.  For
other Linuxes, we would have to define these.

The pmake in Debian is very old, for Debian packages, I was intending to
use the make from the freebsd5-buildutils package.
