    Hello,
I was trying to model network with multiple slack buses, each of them having voltage angle of zero and balancing a part of whole net-load imbalance. The amount of imbalance supplied by one slack is determined by the participation factor.
I know that OpenDSS does not have slack buses as a separate object, so I looked into Generator and Vsource properties but I was not able to find a way of simulating a participation factor.
Could you please give me some advice, how to model those distributed slack buses?Perhaps the Loadshape object can deal with it?

      Hello,

For this problem I would use generators model 3 instead of VSources. The participation factor will then depend on the size of the machine, the largest machine has the largest participation factor. These electromechanical machines will have a greater participation given their mechanical features, governing considerably the grid's inertia.
So for changing the participation factor for each machine you can play with the KVA size of each machine, defining a maximum and minimum according to each machine mechanical features. Also, depending on the V target (I guess all of them will be aiming at 1 pu) the KVA rating will also alter the kvar rating, limiting the voltage regulation features at the point of connection.
This being said, the only VSource declared when declaring the circuit will be the slack bus and the generators will act as PV buses. You can try the normal algorithm or NCIM to see which delivers better results.

      Best regards,

Thanks for the answer, I will try the KVA size modifications.
