I am simulating "EXAMPLE CIRCUIT 1" from the OpenDSS User Manual. In order to see how an islanded grid behaves with a DG source, I have disconected the VSOURCE.SOURCE from this example. For this purpose, I used the command "vsource.source.enabled=no". With this, I expected the WIND GENERATOR to supply power to the loads, but the currents, voltages and powers at the loads are zero. The same thing happens when I replace the WIND GENERATOR with a PVSYSTEM. Why does this happen?
It seems the issue arises because OpenDSS requires at least one voltage source (like VSOURCE) to maintain the voltage reference in the simulation. Without a voltage source, the DG source may not operate as expected. Consider including a small voltage reference or enabling the wind generator/PV system to act as a voltage-controlled source to simulate the islanded grid behavior.

Find attached the OpenDss simulation file.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Hello,
I would recommend the following reading:

BTW, the windgen device does not support GFM, but with an adequate device in the grid working as GFM, the windgen can help supply the loads nearby.
Best regards,
