Hello,
I was trying to understand the generator behavior during a dynamic mode. I took the example of "Master for Simple Demo from Kundur's book pg.843 Example 13.1 ". Here, when I am running the circuit and observing power oscillation of Generator which ultimately effecting overall power.
It would be great to know-
1. Why this oscillation is there and is there any way to stabilize it?
2. What is the reason of writing Dynamic equation? Does all dynamic mode solution needs dynamic equation?
Hello Davis,
Thank you for your assistance. I can understand that there will be a electromechanical transient. As we know, practically in a DG, there is a built-in AVR and we use synchronous panel (for multiple DG) to get stable output.
However, in OpenDSS, is there any way to stabilize a DG transient! If so, can you share light on that and it will be helpful for me to diagonalize. Or it will swing as it will work as a voltage source. In that case, how we can use a generator as a DER in a microgrid!
As there is a inbuilt dynamic equation and normally simulation follow that. So, when should we introduce dynamic equation!
Thanks!

Hello,
It seems that you are not familiar to Electromechanical transients. I'm dropping here some literature for you to read:

Good luck,
Thank you Davis
