#15 camera hangs on automatic reconnect

I've never seen this before -- the camera hangs on
automatic reconnect.

To reproduce:

Connect camera to running server and suspend server
until the camera heartbeats run out and it disconnects,
with a log message about reconnecting in 10 seconds.
The reconnect never takes place since the camera is
stuck in the following:
