Love the configurablity of the SSH-launch tool. How about
extending the concept to allow adding additional tools? At minimum, I'd love a 'launch new browser window pointing at public DNS' optionally w/ some port config possibility. But I could imagine wanting a database client, or VNC/remote desktop launch.

Ability to start VNC client or NX client is would be very helpful.

It sounds like we need a user-configurable toolset prepopulated with a few useful defaults. We could support arbitrary commandline invocation with parameter substitution based on the instance selection.
1/ Improve range of parameters used in substitution.
2/ Move the 'ssh' command into a new 'Instance tools' submenu shown from the instance list's context menu.
3/ Dynamically populate the tools submenu based on user-configured tools
4/ Also show the submenu from the instance toolbar
5/ Prepopulate with popular, well-known tools: ssh, VNC, NX, web browser
