Hi Brian,

In the Certificate Profile it's specified if this extension should be
possible to add at all to a certificate, if it should be put there if
there is any value to put.

In the End Entity Profile you specify if registration should include
altNames, and which should be included. This captures the actual data,
and limits what can be captured.

Certificate Profile defines the technical X.509 contents of certificates.
End Entity Profiles defines the actual data that will be captured for
end entities (required, modifyable etc).
