    Dear all,
is it possible to use the PKI also for other encryption or signature algorithms (also from Bouncycastle)?
    What are the steps?
    Many thanks.

What are your wishes? There are plenty of algorithms available.

I want to use Rainbow for instance.

To use completely different signature schemes quite some development is needed.

We have actually sponsored a Master Thesis on quantum safe crypto, issuing certificates with different algorithms. If you're interested I can see if this is available on-line.

Thank you for the information. We just want to see how it works with different algorithms. Yes, it would be very interesting to see his thesis. Do you have a link for that?
    Many thanks.

We've just published the thesis at this URL. It benchmarks several different algorithms.

Hash-based XMSS and SPHINCS, multivariate-based Rainbow and lattice-based BLISS-B were benchmarked.
