#3 ICQ issues?

said ICQ worked if you added your contacts manually.

When I log to ICQ, my ICQ banner at my webpage says
I'm not either online or offline. Should I install ICQ priot
installing eimp in order to change some setting to show
my status?

When I add a friend of mine whose webpage banner says
is online, my eimp messenger says he is offline. This
friend of mine does not my ICQ id. Should I ask him to
add me sending him a standard email request, or is eimp
capable of asking another person for permission to add
me, as ICQ is?
