[MAS-discuss] How to install in linux?

Hi, I just found this software and i've tried to install it on a
Debian testing box, i've downloaded the mas-1.6.6q-1.i386.rpm, then
used alien to make it a deb file and installed it.

The server works, and the command line client works too (although I
don't know how to use it), but the gui client doesn't work
(complaining about MA_Client.class) so i downloaded mas_gui.tar.gz and
uncompress its content in /opt/mas/lib/classes. Now the error is:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: MA_Client

So, how do I make it work? do i need to download or do anything else?
Or is the project dead. Is there another tool like this for gnu/linux?
