There are numerous times when events are moved or canceled where the original event needs to be preserved for historical reasons so that the past history of the event can be easily accessible. (hearings moved, canceled, postponed, meetings, etc..) Simply moving the event removes the original calendar entry and 9 months later it is impossible to determine when meeting X was originally scheduled. Adding this feature would eliminate that problem. It could even be part of the copy/move function as well. A small checkbox that says "preserve original event with 0 time" or something similar. It would help. Give it some thought.
