I have just release qtefisto 0.2.0, and this will be the
last release on sourceforge. SF has been getting so slow in recent months that i can't ignore it any longer.
So please check out the new homepage at
http://efisto.org
All new releases will be made there.
Version 1.1.0 of both libefisto and efistocmd have been released.
The biggest change in libefisto is SSL/TLS support, and the new
version of efistocmd makes use of this.
Efistocmd can now parse a config file and has more options and commands. Check out the full list of changes in the CHANGELOG.
The project home page has moved to
http://efisto.org
Please update your bookmarks.
Efistocmd, a command line client for efisto based on libefisto, has been released.
Libefisto, a C++ library for efisto clients, has been released.
Version 0.1.1 of the client has been released.
It fixes a bug in Proxy Support
Version 0.3.0 of the efisto server has just been released-
Dear Visitor,
please note that this project is not dead. We have
moved our cvs repository to another server for
sourceforge cvs was getting too slow for real work.
Activity on the new cvs repository is not reflected
on the sf activity index, so that dropped to zero.
In fact we are low on manpower and free time, so we
spend what is left on coding.
Please contact me if you want to access our current
cvs.... read more
I found and corrected a stupid and annoying bug in the user manager of 0.1.2 which left the server administrator unable to add a new user or edit one.
Version 0.1.2 of the server has been released. It containss a lot of bugfixes and works with all old installations. Just replace the Efisto.jar and restart tomcat.
We have just release the first version of the new,
QT-based efisto client. Please try it out and tell us of
any problems or suggestions you might have.
The new client (v. 0.1.0) has been released.
As we think the whole is working quite well the development status has been changed to "beta".
We need translators to translate the text used in Efisto's client applet. At this time, there is very little that needs to be translated, but as better more robust versions of the client come out, there will be a need for translators. Also, when we finally get around to it, the online help/manual system in the client will need to be translated to various languages. If you're interested in helping out (whether now or in the future), please drop us a line!!
I know I know, I've been saying that for a while now, but I finally got AWT whipped in to submission and a functional (if a bit ugly... ok *VERY* ugly) interface in AWT that should (I hope) work on any PDAs that have a Personal Java 1.2a compliant JRE (I'll be testing on my Sharp Zaurus... if anyone has a Pocket PC they'd be willing to test on and give feedback plz plz plz do so and write to the mailing list saying that you will...). I will be testing the new client on my Zaurus as soon as I get the sucker seeing my network again... there's still a bit of tweaking left to be done in the interface before it's released, but you can try the alpha if you *really* want to.
Version 0.1.1 of the server has been released. Update from 0.1.0 is recommended because the new version contains a lot of bug fixes.
Version 0.0.1a of both client and perl-client-engine
have been released. These version now work with version
0.1.0 of the server (but not older versions).
A version of the client for PDAs is currently being implemented in AWT. LwVCL is being dumped for the PDA client due to a number of compatibility problems. The client API in general is now JDK1.1.x compatible, and groundwork for an undo feature has been laid in. I'm not going to venture a guess at when the client will be ready for release, as I will be personally busy with a number of personal things. The client is more or less working already, but the interface needs to be tweaked.
This server version makes incompatible changes to the object storage so be sure to read the files RELEASENOTES and CHANGELOG.
the developer for the client (me), has been busy looking for a job and has regrettably been unable to work on the client for a while. I expect v0.02 to be ready for release within a week or two. This version of the client *should* be usable on PDAs with a J2ME compliant Java VM. it remains to be seen if this will actually work, so we shall see... this version of the client will *not* be usable with v0.01 or v0.02 of the server due to protocol changes, but v0.03 is in the works and should be ready by or before the client's release
a draft of spec doc v0.02 is online under the Docs section.
We have created a mailing list "efisto-dev-general" for all things concerning development of efisto.
I'm making a lot of changes to the interface and various classes on a daily basis, so what's on there could be drastically different from the next commit... I hope to have it finalized by early August at latest
I did a complete rewrite of the Efisto objects for the client due to the poor design of the initial version. It is more or less done at the moment, but the user interface still needs to be rewritten to use the new objects, so that will take about another week. Expect the next version of the client (which underneath it all works much much better) to be out by next week, with alternative versions (like one suitable for use on a pda) of the interface with more control over the Efisto features on the way in the near future...
The version 0.0.2 of the server has been released.
This fixes a bug which more or less made it unuseable
in most cases so an update is advised.
As you may have noticed the demo site was offline for quite some time. This was due to a bug in the software which filled up the logfile (and with that the filesystem it resided on). This bug has been fixed and the new version is now online and back for testing. This new version will be released as version 0.0.2 soon.
We also made available a precompiled version of the client so all you need is a recent (1.3.1 or above) Java Runtime Enviroment to test efisto.
See the other news post for details on how to use the demo site.
