Finally found OS that work with efax-gtk and conexant modem with driver form linuxant.
I have gcc c++ problem in installing efax-gtk on ubuntu 9.10.
Ubuntu 10.04 lucid lynx goes perfectly as you can install efax-gtk from ubuntu software center, and install driver from linuxant ( note : only 14.4 K out of 56K as you need to buy licence to make it in full bandwidth)
now that I got those two, I change ownership of the device, add myself in fax group, but fail to add in dialup group ( system says there is no dialup group)
and when I click standby , this is the result :

2. your software modem is broken.
Please note that if you want support on conexant's software modem then you get it from them. efax-gtk assumes you have a working modem: if you don't, you need to get support elsewhere, and come back after that.

Problem with sending,
when i add printer , HPFAX, socket://localhost:9900.
wizard ask for ppd files?
is there any guide in sending fax that I can follow?

i tried setting printer from terminal
/usr/sbin/lpadmin -p FaxPrinter -E -v socket://localhost:9900
and when i print document on openoffice, efax-gtk result :

You need efax-gtk 3.2.0 or later. There is an incompatibility in the version of ghostscript used by that particular distribution of ubuntu.
it works fine.
efax gtk 3.2.3 works smoothly on ubuntu 10.04 LTS with conexant 56K soft fax modem and driver must be bought from linuxant.
you may need to update and install some lib files , just follow through and the version is make able.

can you please comment as I am receiving nothing / blank file when view with gv, although the efax-gtk got the file
