Hello, Sorry for the delay. I am still flooded with the various possibilites in this field. I must say I found a lot of information on the web regarding document search. Here are some of the pointers. http://www.dlib.org/dlib/january97/retrieval/01shneiderman.html#relevance http://www.w3.org/RDF/ (this is about Resource description framework which talks of associating metadata with every document to aid in document search) http://www.cs.umd.edu/users/hendler/AgentWeb.html (this paper talks of semantic web Ontologies) I think we need to decide how complicated we would like the search for eDocs to get. Maybe for the time being we should simply stick to the RDF framework and make sure that the document creator associates a metadata with the document.
