In fact, the current CVS version (which will be the upcoming 0.5.0 version) totally rules :-) There are two reasons why I haven't put out a new version yet: * there is a bug with some widget styles if the green theme is used, which causes these labels (toolbar, notebook tabs labels etc.) to use another font than they should. I haven't figured out the problem yet, nor have I figured out how to reproduce it on my own machine. This is a rather annoying visual bug (as the font size is apparently huge on some systems), so I really want this fixed before I make a new release. * I am currently in the final stage of writing up my MSc dissertation which is due pretty soon, so I currently have not too much time to tinker with the GUI. > Is it also going to support overnet? yes, it will fully support overnet at some point. Currently the problem lies in the current version of the overnet core, which will definitively crash when the GUI sends a search request. The CVS version of the GUI should already be able to recognise an overnet core and possibly even work around the search bug (I don't know what code overnet 42 is based on, so I am not sure that some of my overnet core fixes have already been worked in). It's a matter of time. The next overnet core version should at least be usable with the GUI. Anyway, development on this is done on both sides (GUI and core). > On the site, further development of EDonkey is announced, is this happening > now? yes. I know I've been saying that for probably over half a year now, but there is definitely progress now. The donkey code reached a state where it is stable again, and is also being actively worked on again by MetaMachine. It is definitively in a state where we might see a new linux core any time :-) Cheers -Tim -- http://ed2k-gtk-gui.sourceforge.net/ http://ed2k-tools.sourceforge.net/ |
