This is an effort to reduce interface clutter. Nobody
dared to clean it up a little bit. Usability is
horrible, while functionality is great.
There is absolutely no reason to provide blue progress
bar pans. Green is intuitive.

Yeah, the interface is very cluttered, I admit that, but I just haven't
found the time / motivation to clean it up.
There is a reason to provide blue progress bar pans instead of green
ones, and that is: green simply looks shite with many themes. I know
it's not a good one, but ...
Maybe I actually should just put the color into a
~/.ed2k_gui/ed2k_gui.rc file or so, as style property of the progress
bar renderer. People who don't like green could just change it that way
Dunno, gotta think about it. Ping me again in a week if I haven't

sorry for the long delay in getting back to you on this.
I think you are right: ed2k-gtk-gui has way too much
interface clutter. That needs to be changed.
I'll throw out the 'green colour' stuff, and the blue
progress bar stuff, and there should also be menus, and
standard buttons like OK/Cancel etc. should be stock buttons
and all that (I keep noticing the lack of accelerators
everywhere, and it's driving me mad).
The truth is though that I prefer to spend my coding time on
other projects than ed2k-gtk-gui, so my motivation for doing
rewrites is fairly low at the moment ;)
Here's the plan:
* make new core release (this week hopefully, and if it's
only a snapshot)
* make new ed2k-gtk-gui release
* after that, immediately ditch progress bars and green
colour stuff (just to keep complaints to a minimum ;-))
* gradually rewrite other stuff
PS: and just in case you don't hear from me again within the
next 2-4 weeks, ping me again and I'll add you to the
project and you can go and change whatever you like in CVS.
