+In addition to providing the tools needed the access, log, and display meter data.  EcoWin also provides the functionality to monitor the data and automatically send out e-mail or SMS messages in response to unexpected usage.

+EcoWin was developed as the senior project by the class of 2011 computer science majors at Luther College, under the supervision of Dr. Kent Lee.  They released the results of their work into the public domain using the Creative Commons CC0 tool.  (Available as revision [cfa67c](https://sourceforge.net/p/ecowin/code/ci/cfa67c041ccfe1a3a9429b837f5a71e2ff281ff7/) in the code repository).  The project management system used during that development can still be found at
