This will save us a lot of effort when moving EcoLab (and Minsky) to support emscripten (aka wasm) as a target, whilst retaining traditional native target support.

It's not really worth it. It's not a professionally maintained library, rather more a proof of concept that hasn't seen any updates since 2020 (likely a COVID project).
I'd rather just extend the class I use in Ravel.
