Eclipse and Java for Total Beginners version 1.0 released

Version 1.0 of the video tutorial “Eclipse and Java for Total Beginners” is now available for download. This free tutorial consists of 16 fully-narrated video lessons totaling 3 1/4 hours that teach beginning Java concepts using the Eclipse IDE. No prior experience with Eclipse or Java is assumed.

These tutorials are based on the just-released Eclipse Europa Project, version 3.3. The tutorials emphasize agile software development using the “test-first” approach. All source code is entered real time. The allows the user to work side-by-side with the tutorials and to learn many Eclipse short-cuts for entering, editing, and refactoring Java source code. Basic Java syntax and commands are introduced and explained. The 41-page Tutorial Companion Guide contains lesson outlines, listings of other learning resources, a glossary of terms, and code snapshots.
