    Hi Mark,

I've been working solo on a software product for a couple years that is almost ready to open source.  As significant as I believe the product to be, it is not obvious how to apply it.

I was thinking that an instructional video like yours would improve the adoption.

It looks like you used Camtasia, which I have not.  Is that what you would recommend?  Did you have to purchase the product or is there a free way to do make such a video?

I've been developing software for decades and love the Eclipse IDE, but confess that I have struggled with it.  Your tutorial helped to align my thinking.

Thank you for investing yourself in the community.
    Ron

Hi Ron. Yes, I used Camtasia Studio. It costs about $300 and only runs on Windows, but, in my opinion, it is the best program for this type of work. There are two free programs available that I know of, one for Windows (Camstudio) and one for Linux (don't remember the name). There was also a very inexpensive one for Linux. These do ok at basic screen recording (in my very limited testing). But CS seemed to be much better for post-production editing and producing professional quality videos.

Good luck with your project, and I'm glad you found these tutorials to be helpful. Mark

I had the same question... very nice videos. Well organized.
Impossible to loose track in the way you put things. This material encourages to continue learning.

Another freeware tool is Wink (www.debugmode.com).  I've used it to create the tutorials at http://o-shining-see.com
