Hi,

I am a total beginnners of Eclipse and Java. I am thankful to you for this tutorial.

I have Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 20002 Service Pack 3. I have installed J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11.

I am running into an issue with "Downloading and Installing Eclipse" as follows:

I downloaded the "eclipse-java-europa-winter-win32.zip" and try to run eclipse.exe and encountered the following error:

"Launcher unable to locate its companion shared library" - application stops executing.

Please advise.

  Hi. I assume you unzipped the zip file (for example into c:\ folder)? There are some good FAQ's on the eclipse website for troubleshooting installation. Also, you could post a question on the Eclipse newcomer's forum. They are very helpful. Good luck. Mark
