excellent tutorials. i finished them in 2 days lol. some things still arent clear to me which sux but i got most of it down.

i have 2 problems now. this has covered the basics of java but it seems to have left stuff out (how exactly do modifiers work, for example? public, private etc..) so i need to dig through tutorials which cover these...unfortunatly they also cover what these tutorials did so it'll be alot of repetitive stuff.

secondly, i dont know where to go from here. which tutorials can i follow that picks up where this left? im looking at making games.

    any help guys?

PS did i mention that these tutorials are excellent?

you're probably not going to find tutorials that pick up right where these left off...I would recommend picking up on some different tutorials or possibly buy a book about Java. Personally, I would go with a book because then you can skip over the parts that you already feel comfortable with and focus on learning new things. or just google the things you still have questions about.

also, I agree that these tutorials are excellent.

Hi. Have you looked at the Total Beginners Tutorial Companion Guide? There is a section called Additional Resources that lists some websites and books that I have found helpful.

As far as more tutorials, I don't have any plans at the present to do more Java tutorials. I'm thinking about doing something for Eclipse and PHP (but I haven't decided for certain).

Generally, my feeling is that video tutorials are very valuable for starting out with a new subject. It would be my hope that, once you have some basic knowledge, that you then would be able to learn from books and other written materials.

I'm very pleased that you have found the tutorials to be helpful. I wish you all the best of success with your work with Eclipse and Java. Mark
