Currently the only way around this is to wrap selected columns in the char() function. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Heiko Hilbert (hhilbert) Date: 2009-02-25 02:49 Message: Added preferences to setup format for date, time and date/time values. Category: None Group: None Status: Open >Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Heiko Hilbert (hhilbert) Assigned to: Heiko Hilbert (hhilbert) Summary: Can't browsw DB-structure in MSSQL Initial Comment: In some setup there are problems browsing the tables in a MSSQL server using mysql, jTDS or JDBC/ODBC bridge jdbc drivers. For more details see the discussion in: https://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=2767170&forum_id=605856 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Heiko Hilbert (hhilbert) Date: 2009-02-25 02:52 Message: Added display of table and schema name in table tree. Also a preference was added to switch off this. Will be released with RC7. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Scott (scottbass) Date: 2009-02-16 02:54 Message: The patch did in fact fix the issue where tables in schemas other than the default schema for the user were not shown. However, it would be useful if the tables were displayed as <schema>.<tablename>, rather than just <tablename>. For example, in MS SQL Server Management Studio, I see the tables: App.Foo dbo.Bar GL.Blah Source.Blech whereas in SQL Explorer, I see the tables: Foo Bar Blah Blech (with a lot of intervening tables). The inability to group tables by schema is problematic in a large database. Finally, I did try filtering the display with *.dbo.*, just to see if that might be a workaround, but it appears the filter only applies to the tablename, not the qualified name. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Heiko Hilbert (hhilbert) Date: 2009-02-12 21:34 Message: You can downloda the patch here: http://eclipsesql.sourceforge.net/downloads/sqlexplorer_plugin-3.5.0.RC6_P7.zip ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Heiko Hilbert (hhilbert) Date: 2009-02-12 21:05 Message: The table information comes from the SQuirreL SQLDatabaseMetaData. There I found a Bug on problems in MSSQL with special database names (containing spaces or '.'): https://sourceforge.net/tracker2/?func=detail&aid=1995728&group_id=28383&atid=393414 It is not realy the described here. Never the less I updated fw.jar to the latest stable version 2.6.9 from SQUirreL and attached a feature patch. Please try if this fixes the problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=725495&aid=2593826&group_id=132863 |

---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Heiko Hilbert (hhilbert) Date: 2008-11-16 19:53 Message: This exception occures on starting the plugin with an old (other) version of the SQLAliases.xml file. SE detects this format and tries to convert it. If some items could not be found during conversion an InvalidArgumentException is thrown. I fixed this by checking for null value and converting to empty string. The fix will be released in the next Patch. A workaround is to delete the old file (<ws>/.metadata/.plugins/net.sourceforge.sqlexplorer/SQLAliases.xml) and redefine the aliases in the IDE. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: m.hilpert (mhilpert) Date: 2008-11-14 17:11 Message: Well, I installed Eclipse freshly with 3.4.1 release of Eclipse. Then I added the update site of sql explorer and after restart the same error occurs when trying to go into sql explorer prefs: - but with a slightly different error message: !ENTRY ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Heiko Hilbert (hhilbert) Date: 2008-11-16 19:53 Message: This exception occures on starting the plugin with an old (other) version of the SQLAliases.xml file. Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: m.hilpert (mhilpert) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Connection without user name doesn't work Initial Comment: I configured a connection with the jTDS driver. This driver also supports windows authentication (single sign on) and doesn't need a user/password. I also start eclipse with a custom library path so that the jTDS' DLL for the single sign on is found. This works with other SQL plugins for Eclipse, but SQL Explorer just shows an error: !ENTRY net.sourceforge.sqlexplorer 4 4 2008-11-17 10:29:12.765 !MESSAGE Cannot connect to SDE0011_amc/anonymous. Check your URL Anmeldung für Benutzer '(null)' fehlgeschlagen. Ursache: Keiner vertrauten SQL Server-Verbindung zugeordnet. The URL is correct as it is used in other apps/plugins. (Connection with a database user works.) In addition, it would be usefull to have a "test connection" functionality in the "Change connection profile" dialog. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Heiko Hilbert (hhilbert) Date: 2008-11-21 13:25 Message: In the jTDS docs I found nothing special one has to do to open a SSO connection in that way. So can you try to add the ntlmauth.dll to your system32-directory. I don't know exactly whats going on while loading the driver classes dynamically. I know that OSGi uses special class loading to handle the different plugin contexts. Are there any other error messages in your error log which can be related to that problem? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: m.hilpert (mhilpert) Date: 2008-11-18 14:10 Message: Yes, I have set the domain property. The JDBC driver and JDBC URL is correct as I use it with other SQL plugins and for all other separate Java apps to our SQL Server. The other SQL Eclipse plugins worked after I added the library path to eclipse exclipse.exe ... -Djava.library.path=<directory with jTDS ntlmauth.dll for single sign on> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Heiko Hilbert (hhilbert) Date: 2008-11-17 22:27 Message: SE does not any special when openning JDBC connections. AFAIR you have to set the domain property in the jTDS connection URL. Are you sure that your connection URL is correct for single sign on? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=725495&aid=2304476&group_id=132863 |

Category: None Group: None Status: Deleted Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Steiner (steiner_de) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: No entry in Eclipse Configuration Initial Comment: The installed version does not seem to register within the Eclipse Configuration. This results in Eclipse SQL not turning up when I view Software Updates - Manage Configuration which then leads the Update Manager (Eclipse and Tikal for example) to believe that the feature is not installed yet. The Manager then tries to install it and fails, because it's already there. This happens with the 3.0.0 updatesite and with 3.5.0 RC 5 as well. It's surely not critical but quite annoying. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Steiner (steiner_de) Date: 2008-11-20 18:02 Message: Thanks for fixing and coming back to this post. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Heiko Hilbert (hhilbert) Date: 2008-11-16 19:10 Message: There was a problem with locale settings which prevent SE from correctly installing in the Update Manager.
