Shouldn't we also create a linux rcp package of the new 3.0.0 version? I was planning to install linux on my old pc anyway, so I'm willing to give it a shot.

Davy, I checked out the code on a Ubuntu linux system. I added the required plugins for linux, but there is still one error because the org.apache.xerces plugin is missing.
I exported the RCP and it is working fine with mysql.
What is the xerces plugin used for? Would it be a problem if it is missing in the linux RCP or do we need to add it?

Not sure. It's one of those plugins that is added automatically by eclipse after you press the 'add required plugins' button. It is not used in the sql explorer itself. So one of the plugins that we use must has got a dependency on xerces. Maybe we should release the build for linux as a 'beta' package and get some users to try it out..
