    Hi,

I'm trying to get SQL Explorer into my Eclipse 3.5 RC setup, but it does not work.
Using the Update Site, nothing as shown; it's the same with the archived installation.

    What can I do?
    Thank you!

I have installed 3.5 RC1. The update site doesn't work. Why it does not work is currently unknown. I didn't find any changes in the p2 metadata between 3.5 and 3.4. Perhaps it is a bug in the RC1.

I download the sqlexplorer_plugin-3.5.0.RC8.zip and unzip it to may eclispe installation. After restarting the eclispe IDE I could open the SQLExplorer perspective and configure my database connections. It works.
I used galileo-RC1-win32. In the installation details I found only the plugins, not the feature.
I checked the error log in [workspace-director]/.metadata/.log and found one message:

!MESSAGE Unable to find feature.xml in directory: C:\apps\java\SQLExplorer\3.5\features\net.sourceforge.sqlexplorer_3.5.0.v20090419_RC8.jar

I extracted the jar into a directory in the features directory and removed the feature jar form it. After that the feature was installed successfuly too.

Please check that you have extracted sqlexplorer_plugin-3.5.0.RC8.zip into the correct directory.
Check your eclipse log file in [workspace-director]/.metadata/.log for any startup errors.

Sorry, I had a typo in the update site URL. I tried it again with the correct one:

      http://eclipsesql.sourceforge.net

      That works.
One problem is the check box 'Group items by category'. This must be unchecked, if not there is only a message shown: 'There are no categorized items'.

With the net release I will ad a category to the update site definition.

      HTH

I have followed all the instructions but none seem to work for me :(

I have installed the plugin using the update site. I can see the plugin install without any issues. When I try to reinstall it, eclipse tells me the plugin has already been installed. However I cannot see the plugin in the perspectives list. Please help :(

The Problem seems to be the "Group items by category" checkbox in the software installation dialog of eclipse 3.5.

Since there are no categories in the eclipseSQL update site, no grouped items are shown. Odd.

So uncheck the option and all packages are shown.

Can you check your error log, please.
