If you'd like to enter an enhancement request on the site, we might be able to put some checking in for this kind of thing in the future. (i.e. verify that the mandatory JAD entries are present, etc.) =20 I'm not sure what you mean by "when I entered my midlet the class specified was not created in the deployed copy of the JAD". If you mean that the MIDlet-1 entry didn't get created, it's possible that you just didn't save the JAD file in the descriptor editor after adding your entry there - it's a file just like any other in Eclipse, it just has a structured editor. If you don't save it, the changes don't "take". =20 Glad to hear that you got things working, however. =20 Kevin ________________________________ From: ecl...@li... Subject: [Eclipseme-users] Midlet not running on Nokia 6230i Thanks for the advice Kevin. Turns out problem was that I was missing Midlet-1 description in the JAD. The JAD properties screen for midlet does not say that at least 1 entry is required and being new to Eclipse I did not realise it was mandatory. Also seems like it may be a bit buggy, when I entered my midlet the class specified was not created in the deployed copy of the JAD, it took lot's of tinkering before I managed to get it added and even then I'm not sure quite what I did to get it there. Also the class option for the midlet is also presented with a * (asterix) but no midlets were shown until it I cleared the cell which seemed a bit odd. =20 Tip I need to remember is: 1. Test java in emulator. 2. After building deployed jad jar, test with emulator as diagnostics are produced if there is a problem. 3. If all OK, then copy to phone. =20 Perhaps this all seems a bit obvious to you experienced lot, but I'm just starting to learn so please forgive this newbie for stating the obvious. |
