Variables window slow to update

    Eclipse 4.2.1 … That may be your problem here, since Eclipse 4 is notoriously slow and buggy… I'm still on 3.7 and I've never seen this behaviour….

    Following your suggestion I tried eclipse versions 3.7.2, 3.8.1, and 4.2.1 and I still had this problem. However I found that pressing enter in the console several times seems to update the variables windows. I discovered this by accident and am not sure what is going on, but this also seems to serve as a workaround for the post :

    Notice that I have to press "enter" into the console three times. On the third time the variables appear in the variables window.

    Yeah, I'd say the problems are linked, and probably have the same cause. I would say that the EclipseFP code does not get the shell contents in a timely manner, or some race conditions cause issues, and when you reselect the window or type in something, EclipseFP gets another chance to parse the shell output and realized it's stopped. I'll need to investigate, but since it doesn't do it on my machine, it's going to be hard to be sure…
