I have been using EclipseFP happily for over two years. Currently I am developing several fairly large Haskell projects in Eclipse.
Recently I have frequently experienced an annoying slowdown when editing some more complex parts of the code due to almost constant
background recompilation via scion. Is there an easy way to change the behaviour to recompile the project only when I save the file?
If not, could such an option be added in future versions?
No, at the moment there is no option to turn that off, but it's a good suggestion, I'll try to include it in the next version. I think there is also an issue that we queue recompilation requests so that when things change fast in a source file and the file is big the compilation lags behind, so we need to improve that mechanism, so that when a new request comes in all the ones that haven't been fired yet are removed. This should improve performance.
Thanks for the feedback!
