I do not know Altera but if it is plugin based extension to eclipse it
may be possible (however there may be a problems). You can't use
Automatic updates though. Best shot would be to download Eclipse 3.1.
and try to copy Altera plugins there (or whatever set of plugins it
provides).
There may be issues though if these plugins are not 3.1 compatible
(there are some cases out there).
