Hello

I have followed the install instrucions but I have not
managed to use the version 0.7.2 under Eclipse 3.1

The puglin is installed on the expected location...
I:\eclipse\plugins\com.essiembre.eclipse.i18n.resourcebundle_0.7.2

But when I select a *.properties file with RIGHT CLICK,
"Open with" the ResourceBundle is not liste there

I have tried this on a different computer with same
Eclipse version (3.1) and when trying to open a
Exception happens..I could send you the trace later
(from the office)

How can i force Eclipse to detect your plugin ?
have you tested it under Eclipse 3.1

I have also try updating my Eclipse with same result,
deleting the folder, downloading and unziping again

Let me know possibles solutions

    Hello Mauricio,

I did test the plugin with Eclipse 3.1 and it works well. I
    see two possibles causes.

    Possible solution 1:
    ---------------------
Do you see an entry for ResourceBundle under
Window/Preferences? If so, the plugin is installed and you
can skip to "Possible solution 2". Else, make sure you unzip
it in the right plugins directory (where all other plugin
    jars/folders ends up).

    Possible solution 2:
    ---------------------
It may be that for some reason, Eclipse did not register the
file type with the plugin like it should have. In which
    case, you can go under
    "Window/Preferences/General/Editors/File Associations".
There, locate and select the *.properties entry and click
the Add... button to associate the ResourceBundle editor.
If you use it often, I recommend making it "default" to
prevent having to manualy select it for every properties file.

Please let me know whether that fixes your problem.

I try the method that you mention number 2...and the
RESOURCE BUNDLE does NOT appear on the list

    Let me know.

Well... the good news is that it looks like the plugin is
loaded since the exception is definitely coming from it. I
fixed similar exceptions in the past. It usually occurs
when you have a malformed properties file. In order for me
to fix this one, can you please send me your properties
file? Or the section from it if you know which part is
causing the problem. Thanks a lot.

In fact..i am talking about two different problems...

The problem that produced the TRACE that i posted before was
happening with version 0.7.0, when i installed 0.7.2 it
    worked perfect....but..

When trying to set the Resource Bundle as the editor for the
properties file..it does not appear on the list...see attachment

OK, then the stacktrace may be fixed in 0.7.2, but we need
to find out if it gets loaded properly. If you go in
Window/Preferences, do you see an entry for "ResourceBundle
    Editor"?

If not, we have to find out why it is not loaded. Given
that it is in the proper location, does anything gets
written to Eclipse log file when you start it?

    "ResourceBundle Editor"?

NOP..Is not there...as indicated on the last screenshot attached

There is nothing written in the LOG, only a INSTALL.LOG
related to the update of eclipse

I have to admit being clueless. I never had any problems
installing the plugin on both 3.0 and 3.1. Normally, when
there is a problem loading a plugin, it always shows in the
.metadata/.log file. Not seeing anything there suggest the
plugin is not installed under the plugins directory, but
since you are telling me it is, I do not know what else to
suggest. Unless I can reproduce it, I cannot provide much
assistance. If I think of anything else, I will let you know.

I am marking this one as pending until I get a stack trace
for 0.7.2 or a way to reproduce it.

    Sorry about that.

Ok..I am thinking about re-installin WINXP anyways..I hope
    that fixes the problem.

Here is the screenshot of the path were your plugin is installed

It is installed at the right location. Puzzling... Please
let me know if re-installing XP makes a difference (I tested
    it with success on XP).

This Tracker item was closed automatically by the system. It was

I have actually no idea what is going on....i beleive now
    it has been solved.

Have you think about a STAND ALONE version of this great
    program ?
