Using Jacoco agent to mesure coverage on my software I found out that my software won't start if jacoco fails to write the coverage file.

In my case it happens because I would like only one human-tester to report coverage and not the others.
So I basically put strict write permission on the directory where coverage file should be written.

I think it would be better if it simply write an error message instead of stopping the covered software.

I would rather go for the "fail fast" paradigm: If someone configures a code coverage agent the application should fail at the beginning if no execution data could be written at the end.
