Hello everyone, I'm not totally new to eClass but just subscribed to the list. I've been playing with various versions of eClass for at least a couple of years. I'm now finalizing a self-paced course on CD-ROM using eClass. I'm definitely not a tech person but I like to figure out how things work or how to make them work. Kevin has been a great help!... usually trying to explain to me why things are not working or what I'm doing wrong. I hope to learn a few new tricks through this list. I'm not using some of the more advanced functions of the newest eClass yet (search, themes. ) but I'm finally putting a little bit of multimedia (audio/video and a flash presentation) into the course. Yesterday, I figured out how to create a graphic with hotspots (hyperlinks), using hotwords. It's a map of the world with some text placed over specific areas of the map. Here's what I did: 1. Used an existing world map and added text to it (using Microsoft Image Composer) 2. Inserted the image on a web page (using FrontPage) 3. Added a table below the image with each of the text elements that are also on the image (and more text details) 4. Loaded the web page in its appropriate location in my eClass course project 5. Created hotwords for each of the text elements on the page 6. Noted the URL created automatically by eClass for each of these hotword hyperlinks 7. Loaded the web page in Frontpage, created hotspots and linked each to the respective hotword hyperlink This works because I want to have the text elements both on the image itself and in a table below the image. It was fun but there must be an easier way to do this. I look forward to any feedback and other ideas for making the most of eClass.
