Hi all,
With Windows XP and Mac OS X, and even newer versions of Linux, program
icons have gotten larger and more colorful, making them both more
descriptive and less intimidating to new users. OS X lets the user scale
icons up to 128x128 pixels, so our current icon would be a big, blocky blur
by then. ;-) I think EClass would benefit from a new look, and to that end I
would like you to take a look at and comment on some new icons that I would
like to use for the EClass programs.
Here is a link to the new program icons and splash screen I would like to
use:

I already received permission from the designer of these icons to use them
in EClass.
Also, I am also going to ask Bill if we can purchase some XP/OS X like
toolbar icons. I also plan on adding these into menus as well, as many
programs do these days. The icons in question can be found here:

The primary sets I would be using icons from would be the Core Application
set, the Word Processing set, and the Multimedia Set. Please look at them
and see if you think they would be fitting for EClass. Note also that they
are smaller and a little less detailed than what the final versions will
be - they do this so that people won't simply copy the preview icons and
paste them into their program. I personally think the icons are very
colorful and fit well within the new design standards of XP/OS X.
Please let me know if you approve of the new icons, and if not, please let
me know what you think should be changed/fixed about them.
Thanks!
Kevin
