This appears only sometimes, and only on the first node connection.
After a disconnect and reconnect to a node the level meter works.
Confirmed this bug with v.1.16.1
When this bug occurs, there is no incoming status data from the echolinux process to indicate the signal strength level.
The problem might not be able to be resolved until echolinux is linked in statically.
