Hi everyone, I know this was brought-up before, but I'd like to again make the = suggestion that we remove the "end-of-line" characters from the build.sh = file, and all the .properties files. I've worked with Redhat and Debian. On the Redhat machine the script = file will not run. Every "end-of-line" character produces a "command not = found" error. The major problem with this is that the Redhat vi editor = will not show these ^M characters. It took me some time before I = discovered what the problem was. I'm sure I'm not the only person to = have run into this. The script file seems to work on Debian with the extra characters, but = the file looks messy, and is harder to read. I realize that there is a utility called dos2unix, which I'm currently = using, to remove these characters. However, potential user/developers = who have too many configuration tasks to do before installing the = software may get discouraged, and give-up on the project. My request is this: If removing the ^M characters from the build.sh file = and all the .properties files does not affect operations on a windows = box, can the person responsible remove these characters and commit the = modified files to CVS?
