I installed Lightning LInux today. None of the icons show up, including the "start" icon or "Applications". This includes the categories and sub-menus under the Applications. Some Icons show up in the detailed flyouts, but many do not. When dragging icon to bottom panel, icons do not show up, but only a grayed square. Any suggestions on how to get this fixed. Otherwise a nice distro.

To add a icon just hold onto the windows key and the ATL key at the same time right click on an empty space on the lancher it shoud give you an option to "add to panal" click on it and add Main Menu to your panal.

"Startup Notification", aka "busy cursor" (hourglass cursor) is not working. If you click an application icon, you don't know if it really started or not. Programs with slow loading (like google-chrome) can be an annoyance if you click more than one time its icon.
I would like to suggest another desktop manager: LXDE. Take a look at LXLE linux. But even LXLE has a flaw tha I really hate: the absence of "Startup Notification" too, but this is a bug in openbox at Debian/Ubuntu and their spins. I have made a partial solution to this by replacing openbox executable with xfwm4. But your distro has a far far faster boot than LXLE, soI would suggest that you build a LXDE version of Lighting Linux.

Today i found the new realease of Lightning 3.3 . What has changed and would you recommend to reinstall version 3.3? Or will be in the version 3.2 at some point an update to 3.3?

Will that be something added in the future? I would hate to start all over again for each release.
Also I have trouble with your website. It just open Blank.

I would recommend installing 2.5.5 then sticking to it till 3.x if you are not in need of the newest of the new. You could also upgrade every time there is a relatively big release of Lightning Linux for example 2.5-2.6 or 2.7-2.8.

i've had difficulty, the straight iso when dd'd to a usb stick, won't boot. using Rufus on windows computer seems to fix it, and LL boots perfectly after that, so i clone the successful usb stick thereafter.

absolutely love the live cd, use it as my base on my computers. will a future version include the google-chrome-stable, so i don't havve to reinstall it every time i lose power and restart? or is there a way that i can save everthing i've done in this current uptime so it will be reloaded on next restart?

How do you update Lightning Linux if I am using ver. 2.4 and I want to update it to 2.5.5?
Unfortunately you have to reinstall the new version.
