Anything wrong with using the mailmoves command on fics? Not as 
convenient as piping, but you still get the game in your mailbox an you 
can use your procmail filters to send it to the right place. Also, auto 
saving games gets the job done for games you play or observe (there is an 
option in preferences for that).
