Yeah! I only come to think of Sodipodi (sourceforge project) but it is ve=
ry renowned. There are some very impressing drawings at their screenshots.

That's a good question. I must admit, I'm not a skilled vector graphics d=
rawer, and I certainly don't have any experience with drawing chess piece=
s.
But I assume that a skilled drawer would be able to load the old bitmap, =
and carbon copy it, so to speak, into vectors. And of course, after that =
polish it a bit.

Hopefully there is someone who would be interested in doing so. :)
